What is the size of Theo device and where is it fitted?
The Theo device is 9.5cm (H) by 9.5 cm (W) by 3.5cm (D) and is placed on the left-hand side of your rear-view mirror.
What is the storage capacity of the device?
The Theo device contains a FREE removable 16GB micro SD card; the micro SD card must be reinserted into the Theo Device for when your vehicle is in use, otherwise the device will not record any data. You can also download up to 5 20 second videos to the Theo app every month.

Will I be sent the device ahead of the installation?
No, once you have completed your order, you will receive an email with a link to book an installation appointment. We’ll always work around you, meaning no wasted weekends.
Your device will be delivered to you once you have completed your order. Theo is installed to you windscreen of your vehicle discreetly behind your rear-view mirror - with no messy wires in sight.

How is the Theo device installed?
The Theo device is professionally installed, the cost of which is included in the price of the Theo device. You will be contacted within 48 hours of purchase to arrange the installation for your chosen day, time slot and place.
Will there be visible cables?
You'll find Theo hidden behind your rear-view mirror, fitted to the windscreen of your vehicle – with no messy wires in sight.
How do I arrange/book my installation appointment?
You will be contacted within 48 hours of purchase to arrange the professional installation of your device for your chosen day, time slot and place.
Where can my installation appointment take place?
Your Theo device can be installed at a location of your choice, as long as your vehicle has at least 2 metres space in front of it; the passenger and driver side are on an even level and there is space to open the driver and passenger doors; and is parked in a safe place to allow the engineer to safely work.

How do I login to the app?
Once the Theo device is installed and activated, you will be able to login into the Theo app using your account details.
What types of rewards can I expect?
Rewards are given for consistently good driving behaviour. Rewards can range from free car washes to free gig tickets for our very best drivers.
How does the Theo device help me if I have an accident?
If the Theo device detects a potential accident, we will contact you through the Theo device to see if you are ok and offer help where needed; and in some circumstances we may call the emergency services.
What happens if I change vehicle?

How do I cancel my Theo order/subscription?

I’ve just finished a trip, why’s it not in my app?
When we record your driving, it’s sent over the internet to the theo platform using the built in 4G. When the trip ends, your Theo device sends an “end of trip” message to the platform, telling us the trip is now complete, and the trip can be shown in the app.
The most common reason a trip wouldn’t appear in your app is sometimes that “end of driving” message doesn’t make it through to us for example if there’s no signal or you’ve parked in an underground carparks. This means the trip doesn’t appear in the app.
All is not lost though, once you start your next trip, once you’ve gone into signal, the data is sent to the platform along with your new trip and the theo platform realises this means your previous trip has obviously ended, and publishes it to your app.
I’ve just finished a trip, why’s it not in my app?
theo uses GPS to find your location. This location is returned by GPS, with an accuracy score. (This is similar to Maps on your mobile phone, and the dot of your location bounces around sometimes or has a big circle around it) Sometimes theo device can’t get a good GPS connection and so the location has a low accuracy score associated with it.
Since it’s vital insurers trust the theo score in order to offer the best discounts, we only use trip data where the GPS accuracy is good enough for us to trust. We don’t want to penalise someone for doing 60mph on a 30mph road when actually they’re on the motorway 100 meters away!
If the GPS connection is poor the entire trip, we wouldn’t use this trip for scoring or mapping as it would look wrong on the map and cause confusion.
Why is the start of my trip sometimes not where I started
When you get in the car, the first thing your theo device does is start recording video and finding GPS satellites. Once GPS is established, regardless of accuracy, your device will say that it’s got GPS. That’s the first point in the trip we know the location of your vehicle.
